SZTAKI brings world-renowned researchers to INCOM 2021
From 7 to 9 June, SZTAKI will organize the INCOM 2021 industrial event, which will offer more than fifty presentations from registered participants. Among the video presentations, there will also be live, virtual plenary lectures given by world-renowned researchers.
On June 7, from 12:30 to 13:00, Professor François B. Vernadat will give a lecture titled Integration and Interoperability in Automated and Smart Manufacturing Systems. Vernadat, French / Canadian, received his PhD in Ottawa in 1981 and has been a professor at the University of Lorraine since 1995. Although he has taught and researched in numerous European institutes, his name was primarily associated with the informatics of manufacturing systems and the development of Enterprise Modelling. At INCOM, Vernadat will talk, among other things, about how integration and interoperability overlap in several areas. In the lecture, the professor will analyze their role and future directions in Industry 4.0.
On June 8, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm, Professor Jürgen Beyerer will host the virtual stage to conduct his How to Optimize Production Processes Systematically Based on Methods of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning? lecture. Beyerer received his PhD in 1994 from the Universität Karlsruhe, and is currently Professor of Computer Science at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, while also director of the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation. Among other things, he will talk about how artificial intelligence and machine learning can accelerate and improve newer and newer manufacturing processes, and show how dynamic models can be integrated into industrial applications.
On the last day of INCOM 2021, June 9, from 12:30 to 13:00, Professor Soundar Kumara will give a lecture titled AI and ML in Manufacturing - Is there Life after Deep Learning?. Kumara received his PhD from the American Purdue University in 1985, and is a member of IISE, CIRP, AAAS, and ASME, while also a professor at Penn State University. His presentation will focus on how the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning leads to production becoming smarter. It will also present theoretical and practical success stories.
INCOM 2021, of course, will not be all about plenary talks.
