József Váncza, head of the Research Laboratory on Engineering & Management Intelligence, wins Dennis Gabor Award
AI, robotics and achievements in production led József Vánca to win the internationally well-respected award.
"The Board of Trustees has decided to award the Gábor Dénes Prize to Dr. József Váncza, electrical engineer, head of the Research Laboratory on Engineering & Management Intelligence of the ELKH SZTAKI, for his work in the development of technical applications of artificial intelligence, with a special focus on advanced robotic applications, intelligent control and smart energy systems, human-robot cooperation and highly elaborated aspects of cooperative and sustainable production," the official source said.
In 2021, József Váncza became Vice-Chairman of the Editorial Board of CIRP Annals - Manufacturing Technology, and his grandfather's story was featured in a historic article in December's Hungarian Forbes magazine. In January, he published a paper with Dr. László Monostori, Director of SZTAKI, on manufacturing in the post-coronavirus world.
